The Impact’s lone goal was scored by forward Fabian Dawkins (70th), his second goal of the camp, when he completed a centering pass from defender Mauricio Vincello.
On the Rhinos side, forward Hamed Diallo scored twice (30th and 50th) and forward Johnny Menyongar (47th) scored on a penalty early in the second half
“The result is not very important but we have to look at what did not work,” said Impact head coach Nick De Santis. “We played very well in the first half but in the second half we had a lack of energy and we let the Rhinos control the ball.”
For a second straight game, De Santis fielded two different starting line-ups in each of the two halves. Impact goalkeeper Matt Jordan started the game and Andrew Weber played the second half.
The Impact will play its next pre-season game against Lynn University, this coming Saturday (5 pm) and will then face the Miami FC on April 3. Both games will be played at Las Palmas complex, in Fort Lauderdale.
