IMPACT 0 MIAMI 0

Despite the fact that it was a friendly game, the match was played with a lot of intensity and was punctuated with several physical actions. Seven yellow cards were distributed and Miami FC defender Walter Ramirez was ejected from the game, in the 28th minute.

Impact goalkeeper Matt Jordan, who was playing his first complete game of the camp, got the shutout. His opponent Chris Doyle was in nets for the Miami FC.

“It’s a good thing to end on this note,” said Impact captain Mauro Biello. “It gives us a good idea of our progression since the beginning of camp. There is still a lot of work to do but things are already falling into place.”

“It’s a positive result because we got a shutout on the road,” said defender Gabriel Gervais. “It also gives us a good idea of the opponent we will be facing this season.”

For a second straight pre-season match, head coach Nick De Santis decided to substitute his players as the game progressed, rather than to field separate line-ups for each half. Defender Mauricio Vincello is the only Impact player who played the entire game.

The Impact ends the second phase of its training camp with a record of one win (3-1 against Lynn University), one loss (1-3 against Rochester) and two ties (1-1 against Honduras and 0-0 against the Miami FC).

The team returns to Montreal Wednesday for its final preparation before kicking off the 2007 USL D1 season April 21, in Atlanta, against the Silverbacks.
