The Impact presents its 2009 summer soccer clinics schedule

Some of the new features for 2009 include goalkeeper-specific clinics, as well as an additional week to the calendar. Clinics will be held from July 6 to 10, from July 27 to 31 and from August 3 to 7, from 9 am to noon, at Saputo Stadium.

“We are happy to offer to our young fans the chance to train with Impact players in our home, the Saputo Stadium,” said Impact team captain and Réno-Dépôt Impact Soccer Schools supervisor Mauro Biello. “The additional week will enable us to cater to growing demand. The new goalkeeper program will enhance the quality and breadth of our services.”

“These clinics are an annual gathering for hundreds of players,” added Biello. “During different sessions, we give the youth the chance to challenge themselves through various fun and stimulating exercises. Clinics are open to participants from all levels and we are able to offer exercises adapted to their needs. This will prove to be beneficial throughout their development.”

Goalkeeper clinics are organized in collaboration with Impact goalkeeper coach Youssef Dahha.

“This is the first time that we offer goalkeeper-specific clinics in the summer,” noted Youssef Dahha. “I’m thrilled with the idea of contributing to the development of promising youth. Participants will be able to rub shoulders with pros while at the same time developing their technical and physical abilities.”

A program specifically designed for coaches will also be offered soon.

The Réno-Dépôt Impact Soccer Schools are offered to young players aged 5 to 16. For $185, participants will get 15 hours of training, a ball, a jersey and a souvenir photo. Note that all training sessions are coached by Impact players and that spaces are limited.

In collaboration with the OSA Soccer Academy, the Impact is currently working on a project to send twenty soccer players aged 11 to 15 to Italy, to take part in a one-week clinic. Details will be announced at a later date.
