IMPACT 3 SYRACUSE 0

Forward Joey Gjertsen (14th minute), midfielder Tony Donatelli (55th minute) and forward Massimo Di Ioia (80th minute), who is currently trying out with the team, scored the three goals for the Impact, which dominated in shots 9 to 3.

Goalkeeper Matt Jordan played the full 90 minutes of the game and registered the shutout. It was for the Impact the 9th shutout in 15 exhibition games.

“Today’s game gave us the opportunity to reinforce our game principles before Saturday’s game in Charleston,” said Impact assistant coach Marc Dos Santos. “We faced a young team that gave us work and pushed us until the end. We dominated the majority of the game but nevertheless the game was a good preparation.”

The Impact concludes its training camp with a record of 11 wins, two losses and two draws.

The Impact will officially end its camp Thursday as the team will hold its last training session on the Saputo Stadium training field, at 10:30 am. The Montreal team will then leave for Charleston Friday morning to play Saturday its first game of the season against the Battery (7:30 pm, USLlive.com).

Note that the Impact will play its home opener at Saputo Stadium, on Saturday May 9, against the Rochester Rhinos. Season tickets are currently available by calling 514-328-3668.
