Opponent watch: A must-win for the Impact

Patrice Bernier Luiz Camargo Houston Dynamo

The Montreal Impact has no choice but to go into Houston and beat the Dynamo on Saturday if the team has any hope of making the playoffs. Statistically, it’s possible no matter how unlikely it may seem. At the end of the day, the road side will have to leave BBVA Compass Stadium with three points, a very difficult feat.

Undefeated at home

The Houston Dynamo is the best home team in the entire league with a record of 10-0-5. The Orangemen are tied with New York for the best winning percentage at home with .833 and is the only team to have not lost at home, having allowed just 10 goals against.

General at the back

Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall is near the top of every single statistical goalkeeping category in MLS.  He sits in second place in the league with 12 shutouts, fourth with 2,766 minutes played, fifth with a 1.20 Goals against average for starting keepers and sixth in wins with 13.  Hall started every single game for the Dynamo, tied for first in the league in games played.

Forecast calls for a win

In their first meeting back in Houston on July 24, the boys in blue were forced to play under difficult weather conditions, with a temperature high of 95 degrees F (35 Celsius), with humidity over 80%. This Saturday, the forecast is calling for 85 degrees F (30 Celcius) with humidity at 73% - better playing conditions for the visiting team but still something that needs to be taken into account in preparation for Saturday’s match.

According to our forecast, the Impact will be getting the three points in Texas this Saturday. The game kicks off at 8:30pm (ET).
