Impact will participate in Rowdies Suncoast Invitational in St.Petersburg

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Wednesday that it will participate in the Rowdies Suncoast Invitational, in St.Petersburg, Florida, from February 15 to 28.


The tournament is a brand-new preseason exhibition tournament that includes the Philadelphia Union, New York City FC, D.C. United, the New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC, as well as the Tampa Bay Rowdies, who are the organizers of the event.
Also, for the duration of its camp in St.Petersburg, the Impact will call Al Lang Stadium its home and use the Rowdies’ facilities.
“We’re happy to join this preseason invitational, which will be good preparation for the group prior to the MLS regular season,” said Impact head coach Mauro Biello. “We’ll have the opportunity to face other MLS teams in first class infrastructures. We wish to thank the Rowdies organization and their staff for hosting our team for two weeks.”
In addition to high-level exhibition matches that will help prepare the teams for their 2016 regular seasons, the Tampa Bay Rowdies Suncoast Invitational offers Pinellas County and soccer fans throughout the Tampa Bay area the chance to see six MLS clubs in action.
“We’re thrilled to welcome these MLS teams to St. Petersburg,” said Rowdies principal owner Bill Edwards.  “This is a fantastic opportunity to bring some of the world’s best soccer talent to our fans.  I am grateful to the City of Clearwater, the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Sports Commission and everyone involved in making this invitational a reality.  I look forward to it becoming an annual soccer tradition.”
For all games at Al Lang Stadium, seats from the Midfielder's Club or reserved seating just a few feet away from the pitch are available at $20. Seating in the main stadium bowl is $15, while youth tickets are $10.General admission tickets for the February 24 matches at the Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex are $15 for adults and $10 for youth.
Tickets to all matches will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, January 29.
After two training sessions in Montreal, the Impact is now training in Orlando, Florida, where the team will continue its camp until February 5.
The Montreal Impact will play its opening match of the 2016 season in Montreal on Saturday, March 12, at Olympic Stadium against the defending regular season champions New York Red Bulls. The Impact plays its season opener the previous Sunday, March 6, against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place, at 5:30pm ET (RDS, TSN).
