Impact will host Beachside SC in Development Academy

After a stunning month of September and a weekend without any games, the three Impact teams in Development Academy will be back at it this Saturday, when they host the teams from Beachside Soccer Club. All games will be open to the public and free of charge.


The U15 team will play at 10am, the U17 team at noon, and the U19 team at 2:30pm.


All three academy teams had an excellent month of September. The U15 and U19 teams were perfect, with five and four wins respectively, while the U17 team won three out of four.

Head to head

This will be the first games between the two academies this year, although they’ve faced each other many times before. In the past two seasons, the Impact U16 recorded two victories and a tie against Beachside SC, while the U18 team recorded two losses and one victory.

The U15 Beachside Soccer Club currently ranks fourth in the Northeast group, with a record of three wins, two losses and one draw. The U17 team, on the other hand, has only collected three points in five games thus far through a win, while the 19 year olds have an overall record of two wins, two losses, and one draw.


About Beachside Soccer Club

Beachside Soccer Club is located in Connecticut and is affiliated with MLS side New York City FC. Since it was founded in 1994, almost 85% of their players have gone on to play at the college level in the United States.


Among the players that have played for Beachside SC, many have gone on to have professional careers. Sporting Kansas City midfielder Benny Feilhaber played for Beachside SC in his youth. Kyle Martino, now working as an analyst for NBC Sports, had a stellar career that began at the Connecticut soccer club as well, appearing in over 100 games for MLS side Columbus Crew, and also having a stint with the LA Galaxy. He represented the United States at the international level.


Club technical director Mickey Kydes played his football in Greece and in MLS. He was part of league’s inaugural season in 1996 as a member of the New York/New Jersey MetroStars.
