CF Montréal loanees earn first minutes as CPL kicks off

The Canadian Premier League kicked things off last weekend, meaning a few of CF Montréal’s loaned out players made their professional debuts with their new clubs.

Midfielder Sean Rea played his first game for Valour FC, starting the match and playing 79 minutes in his club’s 2-0 win over Halifax, managing one shot and three crosses.

In goal for Valour was Jonathan Sirois, another CF Montréal player. It was a special day for the goalkeeper, who earned a clean sheet in his first professional start, which just happened to be on his birthday, stopping both shots that came his way over 90 minutes.

Over in Ottawa, full-back Keesean Ferdinand also made his professional debut, coming on in the 70th minute in Ottawa’s 1-0 win to start the season. In just over 20 minutes of play, Keesean managed three clearances, taking 10 touches and completing all six of his passes.
